About Us

Hosted by Şişli Municipality, Lezzet Istanbul is a festival which will be organized in cooperation with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Tourism Platform. It will be a gastronomy meeting that will last for 3 days.

Speakers, national and international chefs, and opinion leaders from around the world will participate the festival. Festival will be free for participate.

Gastroshows

"WORLD FOOD DAY" WITH WORLD-FAMOUS SOCIAL GASTRONOMY CHEFS

The world's leading social gastronomy chefs, who believe in the transformative power of gastronomy, will gather the farmers and business owners around a table (#UNIVERSALTABLE) at LezzetIstanbul to talk, and they will cook street delicacies and distribute them to the public in the festival area within the framework of the 16 October World Food Day celebrations (#UNIVERSALPLATE)

 

Why is it organized?

Every year, within the scope of World Food Day, hunger, the fight against hunger, malnutrition and sharing of resources are brought to the agenda. Attention is drawn to the importance of agricultural production for food, which is one of the essential needs of human beings to survive. Within the scope of the events organized, the hunger problems in the world are pointed out and the unjust food sharing, the consumption of countries and food production, the importance of adequate and balanced nutrition are discussed.​ 

Slowfood Chefs Alliance chefs will hold gastroshows for Istanbul cuisine on the stage. Alliance chefs will also organize workshops on the innovative use of regional products. Chefs from restaurants, bistros, canteens and street kitchens that support small producers who are the protectors of biodiversity will meet and hold joint workshops with agricultural producers from Istanbul.

In these workshops, both zero waste will be explained and Anatolia's wisdom will be conveyed by using children's hand skills and making use of visual materials.
